Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each program requires an initial consultation in which we meet and collaborate to create an individualized program that best suits your needs. We want to get to know you and your current health abilities so that we can best reach your goals!

  • Our exercise sessions are typically made up of three phases: warm up, conditioning, and stretching. Each of these phases is uniquely designed to meet the needs of our clients - whether that be general fitness, injury rehabilitation, or working towards prehabilitation for an upcoming surgery. By working collaboratively, we will work to form new healthy habits and add the appropriate adaptations as challenges arise.

During each session you can also expect a chance to socialize with your trainer. We know loneliness can be a big factor in healthy aging and we don’t sleep on a chance to connect!

  • This is entirely up to you! Each selected program varies depending on your goals and fitness level.

The Canadian exercise guidelines for older adults suggest a minimum of 150-300 minutes of moderate exercise a week, or 75-150 minutes of vigorous exercise a week. In our sessions, we will set you up to safely perform exercises at home, outside your session time, so you can experience the benefits of healthy aging more readily. Remember: we’re working together towards you goals. Teamwork makes the dream work.

  • Age-related declines can start as early as 35 years old, which is why Home Stretch works with anyone from age 40 - 90. However, there are a number of health standards you must meet before we start working together. Our clients are generally healthy, meaning: a healthy heart, no history of strokes, and an absence of certain medications. Please contact us if you’d like to see if you qualify!

We are also open to working with seniors living in retirement homes and aging communities.

  • The best part about Home Stretch is that we come to you! Meaning, we will provide the weights, cables and appropriate-sized mats necessary for our sessions together. All you need is sufficient space in your living area to perform stretching and physical exercise.

  • Absolutely! If your parents are on board, and need a hand with booking or scheduling, we will gladly work with you to help facilitate appointments.
